Choose a game, open the player, and let the small screen take you back.
1. Find a game
Search for a title, browse a genre, or pick a letter in the directory. Open a game page for its artwork, file information and any available source notes. Save adds the game to this browser’s favorites.
2. Open the player
Select Play Game. JavaGames opens a full player page and downloads the original JAR through the catalogue. The first launch may take longer while the Java runtime loads. If an error appears, return to the game page and try again.
3. Use the phone keys
| On your keyboard | Sent to the emulator |
|---|---|
| Arrow keys or 2, 4, 6, 8 | Phone direction pad |
| 5 or Enter | Centre/select key |
| Q | Left soft key |
| W | Right soft key |
| 0–9, * and # | Phone number keys |
| Escape | Leave the player |
On a touchscreen, use the on-screen keypad. A held key repeats while pressed. These mappings describe the site player; they do not establish whether a particular number accelerates, shoots or passes in a game.
Give the game room
The player fits the game to the space available. Use the Expand control for more room, or rotate your phone to move the keypad to the sides. The game keeps its original proportions.
Read the game’s own instructions
Phone games assign actions differently. Open Help or Instructions inside the game before playing. A 176×208 build stays in its own shape inside the handset stage, rather than stretching to fill it.
Download for a compatible phone
The Download button saves the original JAR. Install it only on a Java ME compatible phone or emulator. A modern smartphone does not open a JAR as a native app.
