Build a Career Writing About the Classic Mobile Games You Love
Javagames.com.ng is an independent editorial site dedicated to documenting, reviewing, and preserving the legacy of Java ME (J2ME) mobile games. We cover classic titles from the keypad-phone era (2000–2010), gameplay guides, controls, strategy tips, historical features, and compatibility notes—strictly for educational and archival purposes. Our readers are nostalgic gamers, collectors, and retro-mobile enthusiasts across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.
We are a remote-friendly team always looking for talented writers, reviewers, and mobile-tech enthusiasts who want their work seen by a real audience that values accurate, hands-on content about the games and devices that defined early portable gaming.
Why Work With Us
Reach a real audience. Your articles will be read by people who grew up with 128×160 screens, numeric keypads, and Gameloft, EA Mobile, and Glu titles—and who still care about how those games actually worked.
Write about what you already know and play. Assignments stay focused on classic Java games, mobile phone settings, how-to guides, and device reviews. You will not be asked to cover topics you have no experience with.
Build your portfolio. Published, credited work on a specialised site helps you grow as a gaming writer, content creator, or mobile-tech reviewer.
Fair compensation. Consistent, quality contributors are paid. Rates are discussed individually based on experience, output, and article type.
Room to grow. Many contributors start with one solid piece and move into regular paid roles or specialised sections.

1. Classic Mobile Games How-To Writer
Freelance, part-time, remote.
What you will do:
Write clear, step-by-step how-to guides on classic Java ME games—controls, menu navigation, skill moves, settings optimisation, common problems, and practical tips. Every method must be tested by you on actual phones or accurate emulation environments before you write about it. Follow a simple structure: introduce the problem or goal, explain why it matters, present numbered methods or steps, and end with a short conclusion.
What we are looking for:
• Real, hands-on experience playing classic Java/J2ME games on physical phones (or well-documented modern setups).
• The ability to write simple, correct English that a complete beginner can follow.
• Strong attention to detail when describing keypad combinations, menu paths, screen resolutions, and in-game settings.
• Commitment to original work only—every article is checked for plagiarism.
2. Mobile Phone Reviewer (Urgent)
Freelance, remote.
What you will do:
Write honest, detailed reviews of mobile phones—especially devices that relate to classic Java gaming, modern phones used for emulation or retro play, or phones that still matter to our audience. Every review must cover design, performance, screen, battery, software experience, strengths, weaknesses, and a clear final verdict with a rating. Include practical notes on how the device handles older Java titles or related apps when relevant.
What we are looking for:
• Genuine experience using and testing mobile phones.
• Strong, fair opinions backed by real hands-on testing.
• Clean, confident writing with no filler and no hype.
• Ability to explain technical points in plain language that readers can trust.
This role is currently a priority. If you have solid phone-review experience (or deep personal knowledge of devices), we want to hear from you first.
3. Game Reviewer & Retrospective Writer
Freelance, remote.
What you will do:
Write honest reviews and retrospectives of classic Java ME titles. Cover strengths, weaknesses, controls, historical context, and a clear final verdict. Place each game in context against other titles from the same era or publisher.
What we are looking for:
Strong opinions grounded in real play experience, clean writing, and respect for the original hardware limitations of the Java ME platform.
What We Expect From Every Contributor
• Original content only. Plagiarism, paraphrased copying, or recycled articles from other sites are never accepted.
• Accurate, tested information. If a guide or review claims something works, you must have verified it yourself.
• Clean, safe content. We do not publish adult material, offensive content, or anything that violates advertising policies. We never host, distribute, or link to copyrighted game files (.jar, .jad, etc.) or pirated software.
• Respect for deadlines. Communicate honestly about your availability.
